Sometimes You Need More Than Dreaming

A writer and a lost boy. Trying to find out what this crazy life has to offer.

Life

i wonder what people keep in their pockets
so close their skin
I wonder what secrets they keep
do they stop you from sleeping?

no matter how dark the night
the dawn still comes
we are alive

everybody is trying to get out on this one way street
You can’t see the future when you are looking backwards
All you have are the memories and the faith you seek
in whatever you believe
it’s only up to you
this is your life

no matter how dark the night
the dawn still comes
we are alive

stranger in my hometown

Stranger In My Hometown

There’s a bum on the corner,
Shouting about the world ending soon,
Maria passes him every single day,
And started to believe what the drunken man says,
So Maria is praying in church for her children,
She was my high school sweet heart,
Her husband up and left her all alone,
Two kids and no place to go,

This old town sure has changed a lot,
I feel like a stranger in my hometown,
See son, Johnny was a man looking for gold,
He wasn’t a man to fall in love,
He just fucked around and drank a lot,
But he gave that all up when Maria got pregnant,
But like too many men he got scared,
He ran, He ran never to be seen again,

This old town sure has changed a lot,
I feel like a stranger in my hometown,

The cops walk around guns in hand,
Looking in the dustbins for drugs or fingerprints,
And everybody stops and stares,
Wondering what the hell happened to their hometown,
Reality fades into a dream,
But again and again none of us can wake from this nightmare,

This old town sure has changed a lot,
I feel like a stranger in my hometown,

Little Jenny passes me by,
My sister used to baby sit her very Friday night,
Now aged 15 she smiles at me,
Carrying a little baby,
And I wonder how can a child look after a child,
And I wonder what happened to my hometown,

This old town sure has changed a lot,
I feel like a stranger in my hometown,

Maria, yeah she’s back in the church lighting a candle,
Saying a prayer, and slowly a tear falls,
A tear for her hometown,
And I’m out in the street,
Down on my knees,
Crying tears of blood,

This old town sure has changed a lot,
I feel like a stranger in my home town,
